9 + 1 is based on the Divine Comedy by Dante Aleghiri.
The first outfits are broken into the three different cantos of Inferno (Hell), Purgatorio (Purgatory), and Paradiso (Paradise.
The first two garments are based on the sin of Wrath as imagined in Hell and Purgatory with the second pair based on the sin of Lust.
The final two represent two Spheres of Paradise. The first representing The Moon: The Inconstant and the second being Mars: The Warriors of Justice.
